Two runs are enough as Spence goes seven

Runs were hard to come by on both sides Sunday morning, but McGill Baseball found one more than the Université de Montréal and took the opener 2–1. Tate Spence recorded all 21 outs for McGill, his second complete game in as many Sundays.
Montréal struck first in the second when #31 singled home a run. McGill answered in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly from Bentley Dodson, then took the lead for good in the fourth when Vincent Douville singled one in.
One run, and it held up for three innings
Spence gave up five hits and a single run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three. He retired Montréal in order often enough to keep the one-run margin intact from the fourth on.
Douville and Dodson formed a one-two punch in the lineup, each driving in a run. Douville and Nathaniel Steffler each collected two hits of McGill’s six. The defense was spotless — no errors, one double play turned, and Robert Glusker handling the most chances at nine.
#31 set the tone at the top of the Montréal order, going 2-for-2. Their starter, #30, was nearly as good as Spence, taking the loss after six innings and two runs — one earned — on six hits.

Kushari fans nine, but McGill falls 3–1

GameChanger’s raw line shows 3 in the sixth and a −1 in the fourth; the figures above fold in that scoring correction, which reversed a run on the sixth-inning single.
Both staffs were strong in the back half of Sunday’s doubleheader, but Edourd Montpetit did just enough at the plate to take a 3–1 decision and split the day.
Montpetit opened the scoring in the first when #24 hit a line drive that was misplayed, allowing #11 to come home on the throw. It stayed 1–0 into the sixth.
Agastya Kushari recorded 16 outs for McGill, striking out nine while walking one, and left the sixth with one away and the bases loaded. Matthew Baici inherited the jam. #24 singled to left to bring a run home, and #30 followed with a double down the line for another — both charged to Kushari as inherited runners.
Three hits, one run
McGill’s only run came without a ball leaving the infield. Glusker moved to third on a passed ball and scored on another two pitches later, with Felx advancing to third on the same play. Nathaniel Steffler struck out to end the threat.
Vincent Douville, Xavier Felx and Glusker each collected a hit — the club’s only three of the afternoon. Montpetit’s starter, #22, went the distance for the win, allowing three hits and one unearned run over seven innings with four strikeouts and two walks.
#11 set the tone at the top of the Montpetit order with two hits in four at bats. McGill was charged with three errors to the visitors’ two, one of which accounted for the only unearned run of Kushari’s afternoon.

A triple broke the deadlock in the third
William Durnford tripled down the right field line and Robert Glusker followed with a sacrifice fly, each bringing home a run. Montpetit answered with a single run in the fourth, but McGill added two more in the fifth and never let the margin close.
Durnford set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the club with two hits in three at bats. Xavier Felx, Durnford and Glusker each drove in a run. McGill stole three bases and turned a double play, and the defense was clean — no errors, with Nathaniel Steffler handling the most chances at nine.
Montpetit was held to three hits, with #24 going 2-for-3 and #10 driving in the visitors’ only run. They were error-free as well, #15 taking the most chances at five.
